me: YES! you heard me?? why didn't you come and open the door??
jen: i didn't think it was a person! i asked hannah and we agreed it was probably construction...but i did say "it sounds like someone's...stuck...somewhere"

i forgot my swipe card today and a very sweet guy from the facilities dept gave me his! very nice. but he wears a lot of cologne though and his lanyard smells like it and it reminds me of my dad and consequently it’s made me more anxious and also productive. also, when i tell my dad about this later, he’ll think i’m complimenting him.

Brooklyn Mutt: COLUMBINE, DAVE CULLEN →
lazybookreviews:
THIS BOOK IS INCREDIBLE. NO, FOR SERIOUS.
It’s not even about Columbine, it’s about how first-line media responders create the story, and then cling to it with a death grip, regardless of emerging data.
This is A Very Sincere Recommendation. It’s “In Cold Blood,” but…

Untranslatability →
bestofwikipedia:
Untranslatability is a property of a text, or of any utterance, in one language, for which no equivalent text or utterance can be found in another language. Terms are, however, neither exclusively translatable nor exclusively untranslatable; rather, the degree of difficulty of translation depends on their nature, as well as on the translator’s abilities.

Chris Kelly: Because I'm Gay, Here Is My DADT Post →
chriskelly:
The problem with these “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” hearings is the problem with the entire country’s discourse about homosexuality: it’s still debated like there are two sides to the issue. Like there are people who support gay rights and are entitled to their opinion, and people who don’t support…
